The presentation is appealing in its own plain way, whether you're racing at daybreak or the dead of night, but so far, the game doesn't strain the hardware - and a bizarre streaking filter applied during nitrous boosts is more LSD than NOS. These criticisms will likely amount to small beer in a game that's more concerned with authenticity than eye candy and sandbox freedom, but it's hard to imagine anyone being so Japan-obsessed they'd forego the superior racers already on the market. Unless something truly unexpected gets injected before release, Import Tuner Challenge seems likely to wind up sitting on the extremely realistic highway shoulder.
