Your career as a paid killer begins in February. That's not just a flowery way of saying when the Hitman beta beta starts (February 12 on PS4 and February 19 on PC for everyone who pre-ordered): the beta depicts Agent 47's recruitment into the International Contracts Agency and his freakishly strong performance at its entrance exams, 20 years before the events of the main game. Check out the setup in the trailer below:
47 looks like he's barely aged a day in the two decades between the main game and the intro, which probably isn't an oversight so much as a testament to the power of clean living and gene therapy. And don't worry about spending all of your time in an icy training facility: two of the accompanying screenshots appear to show 47 infiltrating a Cuban military base.
On top of a first shot at the beta, Square Enix and IO Interactive revealed that PS4 Hitpeople will also get an exclusive series of contracts to hunt down "The Sarajevo Six." 47 will find and kill each of the six targets, all former mercenaries guilty of heinous war crimes, across the game's six regions. Hitman's first three regions will be released on March 11, 2016 in a discounted "intro pack." Three more contract killing playgroudns will roll out in the following months, which you can get by either buying an upgrade pass or by purchasing the full game from the start.
