The second half of The Walking Dead season 6 promises a lot of turmoil

Game of Thrones may hold the top spot when it comes to punishing our most beloved characters, but The Walking Dead isn't far behind. Things are only going to get tougher for the survivors of the zombie apocalypse when the show returns to our TV screens next month, and its star, Norman Reedus, has been teasing why that's the case.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Reedus made a telling promise; "There’s going to be a fight… I won’t tell you who, when and where, but I can promise you a fight. All of us are about to clash with that motherfucker. There’s a lot of turmoil in the second half of Season 6."

The "motherfucker" Reedus so colourfully refers to is Negan - who will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the show - and comic book readers will know exactly what his arrival signals (short answer - nothing good). However, from a dramatic standpoint more "turmoil" for our heroes should hopefully make for great TV, and the introduction of characters like Jesus and Negan will give the show an added boost.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC at 9 pm on February 14, 2016.
