The major mystery revolves around how the Wii-DS controller set-up is to be used in the game. The developers have suggested various configurations. The remote could be used for targeting, like an FPS, with the nunchuk controlling the plane.
Or will Afterburner fans be pandered to with the remote held vertically and used as a makeshift joystick? One last suggestion has the player mimicking holding the plane in their palm, like some sort of all-powerful flight deity. Whatever the final decision is, the developers promise an accessible and responsive set of controls. Getting on his six should be as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Despite a lack of multiplayer - no playing with the boys here - this is shaping into a blisteringly explosive slice of gaming. Hopefully it'll take your breath away.
