Happy Star Wars day!

The SF movie that transformed our lives has turned 30. The original Star Wars film (subsequently called A New Hope) hit US cinemas on 25 May 1977, opening in 32 places and almost single-handedly creating the concept of the modern blockbuster film.

We celebrated the 30th anniversary a few issues back with our amazing silver cover, and a feature boasting never-before-seen images from behind the scenes. As we said at the time, Star Wars still has the power to reduce us to nostalgic reverie, and even today the impact of those opening titles renders us wide-eyed and slack-jawed.
