Having spent the past year legging it all over Europe, cracking codes and running from a lanky blonde nutter, we’re sure Tom Hanks will be relieved to revert to his comic roots in 2006.
Tom has signed to star in Talk Of The Town, a script born from a scribbling deal between Universal and Nia Vardalos.
Tom and his Playtone partners Gary Goetzman and Mrs Hanks, Rita Wilson, will re-team with Vardalos to produce the comedy – the gang previously held the purse strings when Nia’s one woman show, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, made the leap from stage to screen.
“Tom will play a man who is forced into a career change when he least expects it,” Vardalos said, also revealing that she has come up with a sequel for Greek Wedding and may be tempted to pitch it.
“I've understood the desire for a sequel, because I hear it all the time from my family and everyone I run into at a Starbucks.”
