Xbox 360 exclusive Halo 4 hurtles in at number one in this week’s UK software chart from Chart Track, displacing Assassin's Creed III in the process which drops a place to number two. Halo 4’s vertiginous placing in the chart comes despite selling fewer copies in its launch week than either Halo 3 or Halo: Reach.
The rest of the chart is fairly constipated, with barely any movement to mention. PS3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet Karting is the week’s only other new entry, but pulls up just short of the Top 20 at number 24. Borderlands 2 enjoys a big leap back up the chart thanks to a TV advertised deal, climbing 11 places to number 8.
The just released Call of Duty: Black Ops II will appear in next week’s chart and will, let’s face it, go straight in at number one.
