Gwyneth Paltrow says don't hate her for cheating

Jokingly disses Italian males

Imagine the weepy songs singer Chris Martin would write if his wife ever cheated on him. Your brain can't sink to that level can it?

Well, seems Paltrow wouldn't wish too strong a punishment on anyone caught cheating – like a whole Coldplay album of break up tunes, perhaps – as she defended her character in Contagion .

Contagion sees a Bird Flu-style virus sweeping the world, with Paltrow’s adulterous wife one of the first to get it.

“I think that if death by violence was a punishment for extra-marital affairs, there would only be about three dudes left in this room right now,” she told a press conference at the Venice Film Festival. “Maybe less... we are in Italy!”
