Activision let it slip earlier in the week that Guitar Hero II would be coming to multiple platforms, but today we've got proof - a few early screens and a photo of the new controller for the Xbox 360 edition. The 360-appropriate white X-Plorer controller will work just like the PS2 version, right down to the wire - unfortunately, early belief that the controller was wireless turned out to be unfounded rumor, confused by the lack of a cord in the photo. The controller is an update to the classic Gibson Explorer solidbody guitar, made famous by (among other players) The Edge of U2.
The game will also support downloadable content via Xbox Live Marketplace, so we're expecting to be able to download new songs at the very least.
If you're a 360 gamer and you aren't up to date with Guitar Hero II, go check out our PlayStation 2 coverage so far. We're pressing Activision for a release date, so check back for continuing coverage.
