Guillermo del Toro’s new game will be a trilogy

Following the recent unveiling of inSane, the upcoming videogame from Oscar-winning director and writer Guillermo del Toro, comes confirmation that the new game will actually be three new games. inSane will be a trilogy with the first chapter scheduled to launch in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

"With this new series of videogames, I want to take players to a place they have never seen before, where every single action makes them question their own senses of morality and reality," said del Toro. "THQ and Volition, Inc. are equally excited to make this vision of a completely new game universe into a reality."

Above: If you missed the debut trailer for inSane on Spike’s VGA awards show this weekend, here it is again

The announcement follows reports from sources close to del Toro’s game project, which claimed that the trilogy will be “along the lines of Mass Effect” with Lovecraftian horror themes and a plot that involves inter-dimensional travel.

SO excited about Guillermo Del Toro's video game debut! I hope that is a trend that other movie writers catch hold of, Christopher Nolan could write one hell of a game... o.o Excited!

thanks for keeping me updated T-Nag. I've noticed that you seem to be the person responsible for writing about Del Torro's game. Are you a fan of his movies or did you just get assigned to cover it?

2013?! So basically he just recently decided to actually do this and made an announcement? I smell a game that is dead in the water in twelve months.... Not to mention the world will end in 2012 according to John Cusac, so this will never happen.
