George Clooney in spy drama

Way back in October 2007, The Hollywood Reporter logged that George Clooney’s Smokehouse Productions had nabbed the rights to Olen Steinhauer’s novel The Tourist, which finds a spy battling against a huge conspiracy and finding himself framed for a murder he didn’t commit.

Now Warner Brothers – which picked up the film – has set Anthony Peckham to direct the movie and Clooney is seriously considering it as a possible starring vehicle. Variety is checking the story .
