GC - Resident Evil 4 - Bring Back Outbreak Campaign HellDescent writes: "Members of Capcom-Unity have created a campaign to bring Resident Evil: Outbreak to modern consoles. The fans either want a port/remake or a completely new sequel to the Outbreak series. There's a multitude of links to petitions and even avatar and signature images to help promote the cause further. Resident Evil 5 was all about partners and teamwork but a modern Outbreak would be fantastic. Something along the lines of a more serious and scary Left 4 Dead would be great. So check out the thread and give them your support."

GC - Resident Evil 4 - IGN Top 100 10-2 "The Top 100 Games of All Time!
Yes, friends, more than 30 editors located all over the world set aside their ages, allegiances and personal favorites to pick the hundred best videogames that the planet has ever seen! There was fighting, there was mayhem, and there was pizza -- lots and lots of pizza.

Now, some of you may proclaim, "but your list is different from the rankings you guys did in 2005!" Well, of course it is people. Plenty of fantastic games have been released since then, and we have plenty of new folks in our ranks to throw in their couple of cents. We're also not afraid to admit that our tastes change over time too."

Oct 18, 2007 According to the Entertainment Software Association's 2006 report, 38 percent of gamers are females. These numbers are down from 2005, when the fairer sex reportedly accounted for 43 percent of the pie. It seems that gaming continues to be a mostly male affair, so what's the best way to penetrate this demographic? Judging by the sex-filled ads we've seen over the years, it looks like the best way to a young man's wallet has - and always will be - through his pants. Read on and ... » Read More

GC - Resident Evil 4 - GameCube titles sold as Wii games by Pirates NintendoWiiFanboy reports:
"Filipino site GameOPS found that pirates are up to their old tricks again, copying GameCube games onto DVD discs and packaging them as Wii releases. Titles like Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition are advertised with new covers that've been rebranded with Wii logos and boxart elements. Unlike official GameCube-to-Wii ports, these don't even feature tacked-on waggle controls!"

GC - Resident Evil 4 - NECA Unveils Figures from Resident Evil: Anniversary Series 2 It's been over a decade since Resident Evil, the most terrifying, imitated, and intense zombie-virus video game franchise to hit your TV screens made its mark on the gaming industry, and fans have been hungrier than a T-virus infected dogs for figures and collectibles. If you somehow managed to avoid the gore-caked delight that is Resident Evil 4, you're about to get a third chance - it's coming to Wii with added wibble-wobble controls. This new version will be an enhanced port of the PS2 game, however, so you'll get all the bonus costumes and extra missions that GameCube owners missed out on. Japanese magazine scans claim shaking the remote will use Leon Kennedy's knife, shaking while holding the B trigger will reload and pointing in general will aim ... » Read More

The Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4 has finally been given a confirmed UK release date - and the date for your diaries is 18 March 2005.We first caught wind of the game , when it was based around a massive, tunnel-laden underground complex at the very heart of the Umbrella organisation. It subsequently evolved into the rural chainsaw-'em-up that we know and love today - and it's but three short months away from release. On Gamecube, at least: there's still no confirmed date for the of the ... » Read More

She said that she was just looking for her boyfriend. She said that he'd disappeared six months ago from the Umbrella offices in Chicago but then Ada Wong said a lot of things in Resident Evil 2 - and almost all of them were lies. Even her death seems to have been a fabrication. After all, that wasn't tomato juice she was laying in last time Leon S Kennedy clamped his eyes on her shapely form. But somehow, six years later, she lives again and Capcom have confirmed that this alluring yet ... » Read More

Where does your lightgun live? Is it in a cupboard under a thick layer of greasy crud next to a Soda Stream, a Brevel sandwich toaster and Segway? Well, we may have the perfect gadget to keep it company in the bloody shape of the Resident Evil Chainsaw Controller.Designed by someone at NubyTech who didn't get enough cuddles during his formative years, both Capcom and Nintendo have given the controller their blessing and promised to make it the official device of Resident Evil 4 when it hits ... » Read More

It may have slipped to early 2005 but Resident Evil 4 is still one of the most eagerly awaited games of the moment and we have a crop of new pics of Leon's face-removing arsenal. In order of appearance in the shots to the right, at the top we have the shotgun, the said face-removing weapon of choice when it's up close and personal and the halitosis is one bite away. Resident Evil 4 is Hideo Kojima's favourite game at this year's E3, while random Americans walking past the game's pods at the event can be heard to proclaim "this looks awesome". And you know what? They're right. The reinvention of the Resi series - proper 3D gameplay, the loss of those pre-rendered backgrounds and no more slowly opening doors - works an absolute treat. Even the lack of proper zombies is a good thing: those inbred, sack-wearing villagers are far more scary than the hokey ... » Read More

Capcom have released the first 'official' screenshots from Resident Evil 4 since the game was first unveiled in November 2002. While a handful of scans from Japanese games mags have been doing the rounds of late, these mark the first proper screenshots we've seen of the radically reworked next instalment of the classic survival-horror series. The game appears to be much darker in tone that its predecessors and, as previously mentioned, the game eschews the zombie hordes of yore in favour of ... » Read More

GC News | Resident Evil 4
New details of Resident Evil 4 reveal that, incredibly, the game is entirely free of zombies. Instead, according to sources in Japan, you'll be facing "villagers". Rather than having to fend off dumb, shambling members of the undead, these people have smarts, so it should mean that the game's enemies will be far more interesting in their AI and behaviour. Plus, they come armed for the fight and can throw their weapons of choice, which includes sickles and axes.As the game progresses, the ... » Read More
