Easy mode.
Continuously tap C-Up, Z at the mission selection screen. Ethan will rapidly say "Ah, that's better" during this time. If activated correctly, game play will begin without turbo mode, but with almost double health. Hits will also inflict less damage.
Kid mode NTSC.
Press C-Down, C-Up, R, L, Z at the mission selection screen. The phrase "Ah, that's better" will be spoken to confirm correct code entry.
