GamesRadar plays Mario Kart 7's Balloon Battle, Coin Battle, and Rainbow Road

It's midnight on Saturday night/early Sunday. If the Mario Kart madness hasn't taken hold and you're not at home feverishly unlocking the game's tracks, let us give you a glimpse into the goodness of Nintendo's new kart racer's multiplayer offerings.

Here at GamesRadar, we're not only fans of Mario Kart, but of cramming a large group into a room to record footage of me beating most of the staff. Well, more the former than the latter, but you get our drift (get it? drift?). Without further ado, enjoy a look at what Mario Kart 7 has to offer, and check out our review to find out what we thought of the rest of the game.

I like how they made the racing levels longer and crazier but I don't like the new way they do battle mode. You lose all your balloons but respawn? Makes having the balloons pointless. I like N64 Mario Kart.

Thanks for the vid Hollander! I am enjoying the game as well and this video was monumental in me feeling better about how much I suck at this game. Because, ya know, your rainbow road performance was.....yeah. I'm sure you were just distracted by all the questions. ;) @HankVenture: The game does have worldwide online multiplayer. I know that isn't always as fun as battling people you know, but there is an option for people who live in small towns so long as you have WiFi. I can't remember if Balloon Battles and the Coin Battle are also available on worldwide or if its just races.

I cannot wait for Christmas. Even if I don't directly get it, the yearly 30 dollars I get from an uncle will go to it. It really looks fun (and how did Cooper fall off for that third time on Rainbow Road. It looked intentional).

Yes. Intentional. For show. Not because I'm a ditz.

I'd seen videos before, but hot damn, that framerate seems to run as smooth as a buttered pig. Good to see that the online/local multiplayer works well with the same old voting system. Glad that I'm picking this up soon.

I still have the snes version. I wished that nintendo could release an updated version of that on their eshop. I would happily pay $10 for that.

I really want this now, BUTTTT... I am the only person I know who has a 3DS so it wouldn't be as exciting living in a smaller city with no one having it.

IIIIII..... heard that MK7 has good online modes

This actually does look pretty good. I haven't been into MK since the N64 one. That wii one was pretty terrible if you ask me. Also, am I the only one with fond memories for the SNES one?? It seems every time MK is mentioned they talk about every one but the SNES version. In fact I just read an article where on another website where they were comparing every single MK to each other.....except the original!!
