The Games of May 2013

Date TBA

Borderlands 2: Psycho Pack

Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360, PC

Vault Hunters may be interested in hitching a ride back to the wilds of Pandora with this new piece of character DLC. The Psycho Pack will introduce a Psycho Bandit character named Krieg to the mix. Much like the name implies, Krieg will bring a touch of madness to Borderlands 2's roster with his multiple personalities, buzz axe weapon, and brutal melee skills. Krieg's skill tree will let players choose between buying upgrades in the Bloodlust tree, where combat perks can be stacked; the Hellborn tree, allowing Krieg to set fire to both his foes and himself; and the Mania tree, which makes creative use of Krieg's off-kilter personalities.

Spartacus Legends

Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360

THIS...IS...SPARTAAAAA-cus Legends, the free-to-play fighter based on the STARZ television series. As in the show, players will be treated to a no-holds bar depiction of gladiator combat either as Spartacus, Crixus, or their own user-created character. The game will embrace the freemium model, allowing players to engage friends and foes across the world in battles while building their character's might through training, skill upgrades, and the acquisition of better gear.

Tomb Raider: Shipwrecked Multiplayer Pack

Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360, PC

Delve back into Tomb Raider's multiplayer mode with this new DLC map pack from Crystal Dynamics. A follow-up to April's 1939 DLC release, the Shipwrecked Map Pack will extend Lara Croft's online adventures with two new maps. These include The Lost Fleet, set amidst a derelict ship; and Himiko's Cradle, which takes place inside an ancient mountains shrine. Still haven't played the Tomb Raider reboot? Find out why the single player and multiplayer deserve your attention in out Tomb Raider review.

I hope there's some Injustice DLC soon. I wanna see what would classify as such. And shoot, is Metro that close? AND Donkey Kong? Time to save up some money to get a new system and game.
  • BladedFalcon - May 2, 2013 11:47 a.m.

I think Lobo is confirmed as a new DLC character.
  • winner2 - May 2, 2013 4:29 a.m.

Metro and nothing else, but I won't even get that as I'm trying to work through dragon age again but with all the DLC. Easy method to save money I guess.

I'm hoping that at the last minute insomniac announce that this Fuse nonsense was just a big joke and that they are actually making the overstrike that everybody fell in love with in the first place instead. But anyway, my games of May 2013 are 2012's Persona 4 arena and 2011's Mortal Kombat. I sure do love Australian release dates.

And I thought April was dull. Blood Dragon looks cool, Metro might be interesting, already played Revelations...yeesh Remember when The Last of Us and GTAV were supposed to be out this month? Good times And hey Nintendo, now would've been a good time to release some actual games on the Wii-U!
  • MadMan - May 1, 2013 4:43 p.m.

    GRID 2... That is all.
  • BladedFalcon - May 1, 2013 2:17 p.m.

Donkey Kong Returns for the 3DS is pretty much the only game that I'm interested in this month. Which is probably good since I just got X-com and Ni No Kuni, significantly increasing my already large backlog XD Fuse has completely fallen of my radar, the new look really doesn't do it for me specially after the glimpse of fun and greatness the original overstrike trailer showed. And the story and characters form what I've seen of the new trailers really don't look very interesting, honestly.
  • TheDudeFromNowhere - May 2, 2013 10:21 a.m.

Agreed. The initial trailer of Fuse with that sprinkle of humor and life had me. But then they changed it into something else. Very sad. And yes, Donkey Kong. 3Ds getting everything while its cousin gets nothing.
  • BladedFalcon - May 2, 2013 11:07 a.m.

Well, that's what happens when the cousin turns out to be a stunted dude that is almost a decade behind it's peers regarding skills and smarts, and the only thing that makes it "special" is an extra appendage that doesn't really do anything all that new.
  • TheDudeFromNowhere - May 2, 2013 11:10 a.m.

    Lol. Right?
  • Robsqwi - May 1, 2013 11:33 a.m.

That is a pretty crappy month IMO

Note to the author: The bonus games in the Capcom Arcade Cabinet are known quantities: Vulgus (the first Capcom game) and 1943 Kai, an enhanced/"wacky" version of 1943.
