Sept 13, 2007 Despite its fire-breathing credentials, developer Factor 5's PS3 dragon-driver, Lair, struggled to raise the temperature of the game's critical reception to anything much above chilly. We can't imagine that gamers will be petitioning for a sequel anytime soon. However, love for the developer's Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series is much more abundant, with fans hoping for another chance to slip into the cockpit of an X-wing and fight in a galaxy far, far away all over again. We

Nintendo fans are some of the most dedicated out there and as time goes on, more and more easter eggs keep being found by these glorious fanboys in classic titles. Sometimes it’s about the clouds in Super Mario Bros. Other times it’s finding the same song in dozens of games.

With Ocarina of Time 3D having returned the 13-year-old game to public attention, it's only natural to wonder whether more reinvented Zeldas could become available on the 3DS. The obvious contender for a remake would be Ocarina's sequel, Majora's Mask, though with its unique time mechanic and creepy deviation from series convention, is by no means a sure thing. Still, says series producer Eiji Aonuma, there's no reason it couldn't happen if the fan support were there...

Mention Link today and most people will envisage the young wolf boy that inhabits Twilight Princess complete with his signature sword, shield and green tunic. And while theres no denying that this is certainly the best Link has ever looked, hes come along way since he first graced our consoles way back in 1986. Of course it comes as no surprise that Link has taken on a wealth of different looks over his years of adventuring and exploring. He began his adventures as a tiny sprite in The Legend

Britain's best independent Nintendo mag wants you to get involved with the shaping of a classic. What things, according to you, can The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker 2 simply not do without? What would you like to see? What improvements over the original? What brand new ideas? Do you want the sequel to have a darker, more sinister atmosphere - like Majora's Mask compared to Ocarina of Time? A greater sense of epic scale, perhaps? A game that returns to Zelda's land-based roots and forgoes all that

Sept 28, 2007 Nintendo currently owns four of the top 10 best-selling franchises in the video game world. Number one? Of course it's Mario, the bouncy platform king everyone knows. Nipping at his heels are 493 super-powered Pokemon. Charging right behind them, however, is one lone figure riding atop his tireless steed, sword held high in utter triumph and hard-nosed defiance against all other comers. So, even though Mario and Pokemon outrank Link by a wide margin, the latter's mindshare and

Nintendo will release new Mario and Zelda games this year for Gamecube - at least, if current industry rumours are to be believed. The widely talked about Mario 128 has been an on/off project ever since it was first unveiled as little more than a tech demo at the Spaceworld games show in 2000. It was originally mooted as the follow-up to Mario 64, although sequel honours eventually went to Mario Sunshine. At the end of 2002, Nintendo guru Shigeru Miyamoto stated that he was again hard at work on

If you've somehow never found yourself lost at Newgrounds for hours on end, here's a great reason to start - an endlessly looping video of three Links beatboxing on Tetra's pirate ship. For no reason. Never ask why things at Newgrounds exist. Simply enjoy them.

Link insi... oh wait. Three Links, one link inside.

A very small collection of people were probably let down to find out that Wii U, while backwards compatible with the original Wii, won’t play GameCube games. While we bet the majority of Wii owners didn’t even know they could play games from the purple lunch box’s mini discs, but it’s always sad to hear a system losing features. Though don’t consider the Cube dead yet, as a recent interview suggests that you’ll be able to download GC games to the Wii U… for a price...
