Funny PlayStation commercial from 10 years ago is still funny

Syphon Filter enemies made to look like a bunch of cowards, just for laughs

A decade old Syphon Filter 2 advert popped up on Game Videos recently. Despite being able to remember playing Syphon Filter 2 on PSOne like it was just this morning, I have no recollection of the TV ad whatsoever. Maybe it only appeared in the US.

As well as reminding me in a fuzzy nostalgic way that games used to look like a bunch of drunk squares, it also made me chuckle. Have a watch:

awesome tv spot. i used to dig the syphon filter games in their hey day, but i tried playing the first one recently and it didn't hold up so well.

HAHA That was hilarious, especially for the time... Shame not more ads go for that approach. Though I do like me some moody halo-esque trailers aswell. And Syphon Filter... I used to hammer that game to death! Memories!

I love ads of games that were pretty funny, in spite of the fact that the games advertised were meant to be somewhat serious. Case in point, the original Metal Gear Solid ad featuring the training regimen for genome soldiers.

@flabslapper What are you talking about? Most game commercials I see do show actual graphics (except for halo).

He should have held the taser on him till he caught fire. I think that was all I ever did with that thing cuz it was freakin great at the time. ahhhh the fond yester years of gaming. thanks for the back in the day laugh.

wow, I actually do remember this commercial, video game commercials used to be funnier, now they are all serious business, I don't get it (they also used to show actual game graphics)
