Hostel Director Plans SF Blockbuster
According to MTV.com Hostel director and Zachary Quinto lookalike Eli Roth is planning a Transformers-style SF blockbuster. “I’m almost done with my new script,” he says. “I don’t want to give away the title yet, because I have to make sure I own it 100%, but it’s going to be something that is really fun with lots of mass destruction. I wanted to do something along the lines of Transformers or Cloverfield that was a little more science fiction-based, and with lots of chaos and mass destruction. It is not aliens or robots or a virus - it’s a little more grounded. But when people hear it they are going to be like ‘That is going to be insane!’”

And we’re not commenting on the quality of his scripting. According to Coming Soon , Evan Spiliotopoulos, co-writer of Pooh's Heffalump Movie has been hired to write Universal's action sequel Wanted 2, based on a draft by Chris Morgan and the original comic series created by Mark Millar and JG Jones. Timur Bekmambetov, who directed the first film, is currently attached to helm the sequel.

Green Lantern To Shoot In Sydney
The Green Lantern movie will begin shooting later this year in Sydney, according to Australian newspaper The Mt Druitt Standard 's website. Martin Campbell (GoldenEye, Casino Royale) is set to direct the film for a December 2010 release.

Little Shop Of Horrors To Reopen?
While the credit crunch is closing many shops, it's looks like Roger Corman's Little Shop Of Horrors could be reopening its doors yet again. The original ’60s black comedy was transformed into a stage musical which was then itself brought to the big screen in 1986 with Frank (Muppet Show) Oz in the director’s seat. Now, reports Shock Till You Drop Wrong Turn 3 director Declan O'Brien has optioned the rights and intends to make a new movie version. CGI Seymour, anyone?
