TAMRIEL NEEDS YOU!

Thanks to a leaked feature from Game Informer, details of The Elder Scrolls Online have emerged. Players will join one of three factions, with a choice of nine races, and the story will see the usual political manoeuvring as the factions battle to ultimately hold the Imperial City. Expect the plot to involve Daedric Princes, The Tharn Family and the guilds, too. Head to CVG for all the details, as well as screenshots.

SHARLTO COPLEY GETS REGAL

District 9 star Sharlto Copley is in negotiations to join the cast of Disney’s Maleficent , says Deadline . The film, due to star Angelina Jolie as the mistress of all evil, will retell the classic Sleeping Beauty story from the point of view of the traditional villain. PROMETHEUS BREAKING RECORDS ALREADY

Prometheus ’s eye-poppingly gorgeous trailer is already paying dividends, with London’s BFI Imax reporting record presales. This week was the first in which audiences could book their tickets for Ridley Scott’s return to sci-fi, and so far 18,287 cinemagoers have done so. This translates to £293,287 in takings, 27 days before the movie hits cinemas here, and this has already beaten presales for Avatar and The Dark Knight, says the Hollywood Reporter .

WELCOME (BACK) TO THE JUNGLE

Tarzan is set to return to cinemas, with Kellan Lutz on board to play the vine-swinging hero. Plans are for a motion-capture film, translating the actors’ performances to CGI, according to Deadline . LINDELOF AND BIRD ON MYSTERY PROJECT

Damon Lindelof is a busy man. As yet the project is shrouded in mystery; something Lindelof must be well used to by now.

JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT HAS A LITTLE SHOP…

iO9 reports that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could appear as Seymour, owner of the little shop of horrors, in a remake of the tale. If you’re wondering whether it'll be a musical, then consider this – Marc Platt, producer of Broadway hit Wanted , and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, writer of the Spider-Man musical, are on board. This’ll be a hell of a step for Levitt from being a Looper.

HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!

And let's not forget, it’s that day beloved by fans of sci-fi and dad-jokes everywhere. May the fourth be with you!
