Fox Developing A US Version Of Torchwood

BREAKING NEWS! Fox Television is developing a US version of Torchwood, according to The Hollywood Reporter , and Russell T Davies will be writing the scripts. The project is being developed in association with BBC Worldwide Productions.

Many of the other key crew behind the British version will also be steering this new US version. In addition to Davies, executive producers include Davies’ producing partner Julie Gardner (former head of drama at BBC Wales for the show’s first season) and Jane Tranter.

It’s also possible, the article suggests, that John Barrowman may resume his role as Captain Jack Harkness if Fox orders Torchwood to pilot. The US version will contain a global story line compared to the more localised sensibility of the first two BBC seasons.

What this means for the future of the British version is at the moment unclear, but we'll be trying to get Russell to spill the beans, you can be sure...
