Four new games added to $20 Nintendo Selects line

Shares

Today Nintendo revealed the next four classic Wii titles to earn the "Nintendo Selects" treatment - Super Paper Mario, Mario Strikers Charged, Punch-Out!! and Super Mario Galaxy, one of this generation's best games period. As of August 28, each will be marked at $19.99 and semi-ruined with gawdy red packaging. Serious (i.e. anal retentive) collectors should hit stores ASAP to scoop up the remaining white-boxed copies marked down to $20 before the Selects versions are all that's left!

In all seriousness, these are all outstanding titles (Strikers less so, but still quality) that more than justify the purchase of a Wii, should you be among the nine who don't already own one. I know we all joke about dust collecting on this system, so now's the chance to put it to good use; and if you forgot, the previous four games in this line are worth your time too. As for today's reveals, here's our verdict on all four:

Punch-Out!! review
Brilliantly walks the line between casual punchy-punchy and hardcore depth

Super Paper Mario review
A near-perfect blend of old, new and RPG chatiness

Mario Strikers Charged review
The most eye-poppingly intense "sports sim" on Wii

Super Mario Galaxy
Prepare to have a smile permanently branded on your face

Only one I haven't played is Mario Strikers Charged (but I have the GameCube original, and how different could it possibly be?) This might actually give me good incentive to get Super Paper Mario and Mario Galaxy again, to re-complete my Wii collection.

I've wanted to pick up Paper Mario for a bit, but its always 50 bucks, so this is nice. Also, I just picked up Punchout-Wii for 15 bucks at Blockbusters the other week. (they're still kicking in Canada...)

These are only just now being added to this list? Nintendo, get your shit together. Mario Galaxy should have been added when Mario Galaxy 2 was added.

Your my favorite GR editor, mainly because of the haircut, Spidey fandom, and the fact that you fave an awesome voice. Let us look back all those years. http://www.gamesradar.com/?p=2570

Good deal... for the few wii owners that care and don't have these games already.

If you own a Wii and do not already have SMG, you are a tool. I will also vouch for Super Paper Mario being a great time.
