Question 42: What dead company or franchise do you miss the most?

What now-defunct games company or game franchise are you most sorry to see go? The company may not even be out of business, but maybe it has strayed so far from its original vision that you consider it dead. Likewise with franchises.

Though not technically dead, i miss the Megaman Zero series not the bullsh*t ZX or Advent (though those games are also fun), i mean the straight up serious Megaman game. Tdar hosts stated that they go back to Megaman 2 every couple of months, but i go through all the Zero series when there is a lack of games i want to play.
 Worst closure ever...
Megaman ZX and advent was fun, but i dont want gimmicky transformations and weird open-world style game.
 ugh...

The Ratchet and Clank series. It's dead to me because I bought a 360 instead of a PS3. I'm considering buying a PS3 though.

It's not technically dead, but the Crash Bandicoot series was such a cornerstone part of my childhood. I remember countless hours of sliding on ice running into polygonal penguins, jumping spike pits, wearing stereotypical jungle masks, and countless hours of frustration.
The last one I care to remember was Crash Bandicoot 3, then they all started to go downhill with the racing and the open world garbage. If the game was still a side-scroller I'd still be playing it.

Earthworm Jim!!
I played the hell out of the Genesis iterations, and loved every minute of the goofy, non-sequitur comedy and awesome platforming. Also, probably the first (and close to the ONLY) fan art I've ever drawn.

Jazz Jackrabbit 1 & 2 for the PC I believe this was Cliff Bleszinksi's first professional game and this would be cool to see on XBLA and PSN

Free Radical and the Timesplitters series.
I really enjoyed the Timesplitters games particularly the third which I still think has some of the most enjoyable multiplayer I've come across.
Also really enjoyed Second Sight.
I was realy looking forward to Timesplitters 4 and then Haze (peice of crap) put the company out of business. I'm hoping that sinse Crytek have bought the company that the game will go back into development.

Aww man, Timesplitters was great. I hated the monkey though, you could never kill him cause he was so damn small and you would never see him coming around corners.
My favorite part of that game was the multiplayer, just laying proximity mines and remote mines and blowing people up, so fun.

Test Drive. I can't tell you how many hours i spent customizing my cars. Solid controls and cool cars made it one of my favorites.

Though I guess Atlus and NIS have kind of filled the void. Back in the day, getting a Working Designs game was a special event. The foil box art and the full color manuals with glossy pages were fantastic and unique. Any time I look at my copy of Popful Mail for Sega CD it gives me the greatest feeling. Like it has a magical hold over me.

Yeah the monkeys where a pain in the ass. They where a good mascot but realy unfair in multiplayer. The rest of the multiplayer skins where great and something you don't realy see in other games. Most just make you play in the some generic armour with a colour change if your lucky.
Also I agree about Crash. Great games but they realy went to hell after number 3.

SSX series..... yea they only had 2.5 good games..... But dammit why did they end it.... It was never the most serious of games, Especially with the insane specials. But that's what gave it flare, in a non wrist flapping way. Why would I want to pull of normal "Trix" with normal lame riders in Shawn Wight, when I can Take my Board off my feet and break dance on it. But that didn't take away from the games artistic style. All of the tracks were insanely gorgeous. A great example would be these screen shots. The top one is SSX 3 on GC, the second one is Shaun white on Wii. Both of which are Gameplay screenshots...... Judge for yourself.
 Beautiful for a GC game
 Bad, even by Wii standards.

If this were 2 months ago, I would have said Golden Sun. But since E3 corrected that, I'll say Zone of the Enders. We really need another ZoE, but sadly that will never happen because Hideo Kojima is too busy rolling in the piles of money he's made off of the MGS franchise.
Oh, and Guilty Gear. MAKE GGX3 ALREADY!

 SO MUCH 'TUDE
Okay, I may be looking at this through rose-tinted nostalgia glasses, but my sister and I spent many an hour with Gex. Seriously, this sh*t was hilarious to 10-year-old TheWebSwinger. It's a lizard...doing James Bond things. Now that's whacky.

I really really miss the Timesplitters series. Those games were so good. They were well built, played great, and had were among the few games that were actually funny. I really wish Free Radical hadn't been closed down after Haze, since it seemed from all those leeks that they were really getting close to finishing Timesplitters 4.

Marvel vs. Capcom series
Yeah, I know there is one coming out this summer, but a remake isn't the same as an actual game so yeah....
