Though I haven't gotten to play many of the games that have come out recently, I gotta say MGS 4 was mine.
Also, T-Dar a day early! Shit yeah!

Most likely Mirror's Edge, that game amazed me in so many ways. It was so underrated and under played.
But GTA is a close 2nd, spent so many hours with that game.

Rock Band 2. No doubt. That game has kept me consistently entertained since I bought it.

I'd have to say GTA IV. While Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 were great games, I just think that Gears of War 2 was almost identical to number 1 with a few minor changes. Fable 2 is a great game but it still had some issues that I hope will be fixed for Fable 3, whenever that is. GTA IV gave me a more open world than Fable and a renovated gameplay mechanic, compared to San Andreas. Gears of War 2 played the same. It had great online gameplay, for what it was, and the narrative drew me in. I got sidetracked a lot in Fable 2 and didn't care too much about the main story line and Gears of War 2's story, while better than the first one, still wasn't as good. Don't get me wrong, though. They are all great games. Just for me I'd have to pick GTA IV as my game of the year.

Man it's tough but it comes down to MGS4 or Fallout 3...
MGS4: Pros: Beautiful graphics, fantastic story, unforgettable characters, somehow made up for all of Raiden's errors and pussiness in MGS2 and made me truly think, "wow, badass!!" Cons: It ends... : (
Fallout 3 Pros: Cool game play, great moral/ethical choices, Incredible open-world Cons: PS3 bugs (which apparently have been fixed w/ patch), the ending was kind of a let down for me personally... : /
So I think I would personally choose MGS4 as my GOTY...

BEST 360 GAME: Fallout 3 - The world was felt awesome to explore and it had really good gameplay to boot, too.
BEST WII GAME: Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Really good fighting game, with lots of content to boot.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I LOVE MGS4, but I've been playing Burnout Paradise since the week it came out, way back in Janurary. The constant free updates Criterion has provided over this year, as well as the stuff that is to come NEXT year, it's just awesome.
And to the dumbass who said Burnout kicks Gran Turismo in the teeth, no, just no. Gran Turismo is a SIMULATION racer, Burnout Paradise is an arcade racer. They're in different genres. I love Gran Turismo and can't wait for 5. I've already done everything there is to do in Prologue, and now I want the full game.

So far the only major release I've gotten to play was Gears 2. So I guess that's my GOTY (anyone else pronounce it "goatie", or am I just that much weirder?).
Hopefully I'll get to play Mirror's Edge and Fallout 3 and a few others. Who knows, I may amend my choice.

Gears of War 2, it looked good, controlled well, and the story actually felt as if they put some effort into it.
