Or: First game that caused you physical pain due to excessive playing (it was once actually dubbed Nintendo thumb)

RC Pro-Am.

Playing for 6 hours straight one summer. I couldn't fully extend my right thumb for about 3 days.

I got stuck in Okami, and I spent 18 hours straight running around trying to find out what to do.

Don't think I ever did...

Mega Man 2. Need I say more? Not only did it give me "Nintendo Thumb," but it was also the first game that made me throw my controller across the room!

Metal Gear Solid. I just could not let Meryl die! The latest was not by coincidence MGS4. That was the most intense walking down a hallway in gaming history.

psychonauts dowsing rod.... if anybody played it you will know, you have to be like a foot away for any of your tapping to do anything at all and if you were more than a foot away, and stopped for a millisecond the meter would go STRAIT down. and you would have to go and start all again on your futile quest for getting ~20 arrowheads.

also my first on this forum post ever!

Nintendo thumb? Try Nintendo palm, son!

This is an actual scan of my palm from 1999. This is an injury I sustained from playing Mario Party at... well, at a party.

I was using the analog + palm + rotate technique and I ended up rotating the analog stick into my hand. Nasty business, really. Had it wrapped in gauze for a while, but this scan was a week or so after it happened.

Near the top of the wound is where the analog stick broke into my hand. The red underneath the flap is raw skin, but by the time I scanned it, it was beginning to heal and was crusty and flaky from it seeping.

I can't remember back into the mists of time what hurt my hands then, when they were small enough to comfortably hold Nintendo controllers. I know the DS kills me now, and I have a phat version. Playing Super Mario World for GBA on DS and holding down the B button to run then pressing A kills. And I'm playing Dragon Warrior (Quest, sorry, it should have stayed Warrior) 4 right now, having to press a button for every single thing that pops up in battle is wearing out my thumb and middle finger that supports the DS.

Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Specifically while fighting Mike Tyson over and over. My right thumb literally started bleeding after one marathon of playing Tyson because I kept pushing the button as hard and as fast as I possibly could to get Little Mac's weak ass back up from getting knocked down so much.

The original Halo. Played that shit to ******* death. The second one was NBA Live '03. ******* amazing game. But yeah, Halo. I've got gamer thumbs now, so it's almost impossible for me to get Nintendo thumb anymore.

Mario Party 1 pressing that a button so many times nearly made my thumb melt explode and disintegrate at the same time
