Question is posed during TalkRadar 19 (posting soon). We answer of course, but now it's your turn!

Have you ever stolen/shoplifted a game or totally scammed someone to get games you wanted? Chris has an excellent story, Jesus. Mine's much more scammy and surprising, his is flat-out impressive.

I MAY have accidentally downloaded some PSP games, but that wasn't my fault.

And does scamming your mom count? Cuz I'm like 12 and I've done that heaps of times. If not, I once conned my dad's friend (EDIT: who works at EB Games) into stealing Mega Man X8 for me.

Someone let me borrow Socom 3 a long time ago, and I never gave it back, but that's about it....

I scammed my sister out of her Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga a couple years ago. I gave her $3 because she wanted Animal Crossing: Wild World so much. That's about all I can think of atm.

He still has morals. It was only SOCOM 3, after all.

I have stolen a game from Wal-Mart.

They had a bunch of SEGA Genesis games in a bin, I took Maximum Carnage to the pants department, hid the case under a pair of pants, opened it, and put the cart in my pocket and walked out.

Hahaha the genesis thing is smooth.

I don't know if this counts, but when I worked at GameStop (after the EB switchover I think), they were having some promotion where if you like brought in 3 games of any value you'd get like 10 dollars more for each game or something like that. So we'd ******* grab like 9 games from the 2 or 3 dollar bin and then trade them all back in for mad in store credit.

Quite possibly the most epic thievery, and it was my dads idea.

Nearly 20 years ago, when NES was really popular, we bought a bunch of games at yardsales and stuff. Really crappy ones to, but they were cheap. So my dad would rent games, pop the carts and exchange the game boards.

These aren't really me stealing anything or scamming anyone, but they're some pretty good deals nonetheless.

1) I gave my sister half a stick of clove gum for her copy of Metroid. I got Goonies 2 for giving her the other half.

2) I gave a friend $20 and a Lando Star Wars action figure for 3 PlayStation games and Chrono Trigger.

3) I got a pearl blue Game Boy Advance SP for free from work. I had permission from my boss to take it, but I don't think he knew it had two copies of Pokémon Fire Red and a link cable inside the box as well. None of it was in our inventory anyway.

4) Years ago I was going through a bunch of demo discs at work and I found a copy of Sonic Adventure Limited Edition. I asked if I could have it, and it was so.

5) When I first got my job, I was given part of a Game Boy Pocket display that had a working blue Game Boy Pocket, a blue Game Boy Camera, and a Game Boy Printer attached to it.

6) I went to a pawn shop with a friend of mine many years ago. On the way to the game section, he stopped and got a soda. I got to the games first, and thus I was the one that left with a copy of Super Mario RPG for $5.00.

7) A few years ago I gave a friend $100 and ended up walking away with three trashbags full of toys and video games. The most amazing game in the bunch was Mega Man Soccer, but I also got a lot of other SNES, Sega CD, Genesis, and NES games, too. Oh, and there was a Sega CD RAM cart in the mix, too.

8) I might have given a friend a handful of Magic: The Gathering cards for a gray demo kiosk version of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

9) I gave a drug addicted friend $30 for his Sega Master System and about 15 games.

10) From that same friend, I gave $30 for a Sega Nomad and about 15 Sega Genesis games.

11) Just recently I gave a friend $50 for a complete in box Atari 5200, 9 Atari 5200 games, a gray (not yellowed at all) Super Nintendo, two SNES controllers (one of which being the coveted Ascii Pad), 5 or so Super Nintendo games (I already had them all, but whatever), a Glacier Game Boy Advance, 5 or so Sony PlayStation games, and a clear gray original PlayStation controller.

I could probably go on, but nothing I've said so far is really about what the question was asking.

Just remembered, a while back I peeled off the 25% sticker off of the bargain bin games and stuck them on the new ones.

A couple years ago, I needed some money for Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, and it just so happened I had borrowed my sisters boyfriends copy of Vice City a year or so earlier. So I figured he hadn't asked for it back yet, so he probably wouldn't miss it, so I went ahead and sold it for a whopping $18. Unfortunately I was a minor at the time and needed dear old mother to come and hold my hand into the store and noticed that it wasn't my game, so Im standing in line at the game store arguing with my mom about how "Matt totally said I could have it!!" Fortunately my mother has an IQ akin to that of a particularly stupid watermelon, and was easily convinced. So with those winnings and combined with 20 other games, I got the game and lived happily ever after killing prostitutes, right? Wrong. I forgot the cardinal rule of karma; That its a bitch. Turns out Matt really didnt care about the game, but i felt obliged to loan him a few of my own collection for a bit. So he borrowed Super Paper Mario and Star Wars Battlefront 2, only to be robbed a month later of every single console and game he had (which was vast and full of valuable rarities). I felt bad for the guy, no doubt, but he never did give me any kind of compensation....I felt that compensation was fair because his daddy is filthy stinkin' rich and pays for all his stuff anyway, not to mention his game was worth $18, and at the time mine wouldve been worth AT LEAST $5 more. I kid, but Gamestop is full of whores.

Not a great story, but my mum volunteers for the Girl Guides, as a leader-type, and they were having a jumble sale and someone donated a NES and about 10 games, giving it directly to my mum. I said it was worth about £5, which i paid to her. This was in 2002 or so. I still have it, still works and everything.
