Persona & Disgaea, reccomendations needed

Ok, well as some of you probably know I recently just got a ps2, because they're awesome and I had the money, and I've been slowly building up a collection of stuff to play (sadly what with uni I've hardly touched it) and on my list is Persona 2, 3, 3 FES and 4, and Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Disgaea 2. Now I'm not the biggest JRPG or anime fan, I like the good ones that do stuff a bit different, but alot of the time I find them cliched and boring.
I have Persona 4 already, and I'm just wondering if the other 3 on my list (as mentioned above) are actually worth it? Whats more what is Disgaea actually like?
Basically I'm just looking for any info on any of the games, whether it's worth playing them today (I don't give a crap about graphics except in FPS' to an extent) and whether or not they're really suitable for someone who isn't a massive fan of the genre, because of the plots and characters.

Vanilla P3? No. P3 FES contains everything the original version has and a bunch more. I still say P4 is a better game in nearly every way, but P3 is worth playing. Be warned though, it leans a bit more toward the hardcore. I honestly haven't played P2, so I can't vouch for it.
And I'm going to be upfront about this: As much as a I adore the Disgaea series, if you are not a hardcore RPG fan you may well not enjoy them. They are strategy RPG's. If you're unfamiliar with the genre, the best way I can describe it is as a cross between a turn-based JRPG and chess. Every game in the series caters to hardcore RPG enthusiasts, and many others. However, if you can get into them, they are massive packages that offer ridiculous amounts of contents.
Hope that helps.

Ok so basically I should be looking at P2 (it was fairly highly rated, so I'll give it a shot unless some1 else comes along and says otherwise), P3 FES and P4 which I have, and forget about Disgaea... turnbased mixed with chess and high difficulty doesn't sound like my cup of tea... but whats the story like? If it's incredible I might still give it a shot, if not I'll almost definatly hate it since Turn Based has never really ben my cup of tea even in it's most noobish forms.

Both Disgaea games have an excellent story, but if you don't like (over)complexity in your RPGs, stay away.
Also, both games, Disgaea 2 especially, are really anime-y in terms of story. Thought that would be worth mentioning.

If you have a PSP, get the PSP version of Persona. Well, if you can play it after the PS2 versions.
