GR are setting up a 24-hour MW2 gaming marathon. I found this out from Brett Elston's Twitter feed and I quote:
"Buying Modern Warfare 2? Me and most of @GamesRadar are playing for 24 hours on Friday, 11/13 starting at 2pm PST. Get ready!"
I'm joining! Who else is in?

If I ever buy the game (maybe in a year or so), I'll buy it used and neither Activision nor Infinity Ward will see a dime of my money.

Well I can see why he'd have beef with Activision, but Infinity Ward hasnt done anything hateworthy, unless I missed something. Mind giving a reason for the IW hate Penguin? Not trying to flame you or put you on the spot, im genuinely curious

Its probably because Infinity Ward are owned by Activision.
But i don't hate 'vision or 'ward whatsoever.

Watch the latest podcast.
Last Saturday Infinity Ward released a promotional video themed around the slogan "Fight Against Grenade Spammers", and towards the end they said something along the lines of "...and you're all pussies and fa**".
To me that's equal to a racial epithet like the N word, and I seriously don't want anything to do with such ignorance.
The latest Rebel FM and Bombcast also talk about it if you're interested.
Added to that are various other actions by IW lately that have turned me off, although I couldn't for the life of me quote anything right now. Just a general feeling that "Infinity Ward's Activision is showing", you know, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Plus, from a gamer's point of view, I'm simply way more excited for BF: Bad Company 2 than MW2.

Yeah, but the FAGS thing was taken off Youtube BY Infinity Ward, so they know what they did wrong, and in my eyes, they are forgiven.
I WAS going to get ACII first, but nah.

Just because they took it off of youtube after an extremely heated response, doesn't mean that they were right. When you consider how many stages that thing had to go through to get made into a video and then actually posted, from the first idea to the recruiting of a Phillies pitcher to do it, to the filming and then the uploading, this couldn't have come from one individual alone.
I could delete this post the second after you read this, and just because you can't quote me all of a sudden that doesn't mean that my views have changed.
But that's just my opinion, I'm not trying to attack yours.

The while F.A.G.S. thing was too much of a connect-the-dots "joke" to be that offensive...It definitely didn't offend me...I thought it was a lame "ad" to begin with...

I dont have any compassion for PC gamers, all the ones i've encountered seem to either 1)Act like their shit doesn't stink 2)Bitch and complain more than any other group of gamers when something isnt optimized for PC
While I wouldn't say PC gaming is dead, console gaming has taken it over, theres no denying that, so I really cant blame IW for the dedicated server issue, as they're going to make a majority of their money off of console owners. I look at PC gamers like i do old people; I know that if it wasnt for them I might not be around, but they're time is over
@Penguin: Yea I heard about the FAGS thing on Giant Bombcast, I just wasn't sure if thats what you were referring to.

I'll end up renting it and playing for the majority of the night due to the fact that I have veterans day off this week.
I'll finish the campaign and then give the mp a go. Probably buy it later on down the road if I feel the need to play it again. MW was always big about online kind of like Halo, and I'm not feeling the online to much. It's fun for awhile but not enough to keep me interested cause I'm weird like that.
