I don't like to troll and say stuff like "NOT ME," but yeah, I'm not. I bet it's great, but there's nothing to get excited about for me. No story, no characters, no mythos.

Dunno where you're coming from, buddy.
It does have a story (though a short one) full of gratuitous amounts of 'oh shit!' moments and extreme, over the top craziness all over, with some of the most memorable characters in an FPS in a long time.So I hear from people who actually played more than just the multiplayer..

What I mean is something like Halo has a universe and characters you already know and maybe care about (or not, whatever steamboats your root beer float), from earlier games in the series. All or most of the characters in CoD4 died. I'm sure the gameplay will be great, but having an interesting backstory adds so much more, and gets me way more hyped up for the game.
I dunno. The setting just doesn't grab me.

They're making a game where hundreds of people's lives are destroyed and/or they get murdered and yet they must censor their background music. What a world.

Eh. I'm gonna rent it. I'm only interested in single-player. It'll be an awesome rental though, that's for sure.

That's laughable.

Halo is mainly convoluted.
You're saying Halo is interesting because for backstory the mentioned Forerunners a lot?

The story's interesting when bungies not talking about the games. So its the world, not the games. I still dont understand how people see that as being "good". From what I understand the books are Grade A stuff.... but there doing it wrong.

I hope they have a part in the game, where there are totally terrorists holding a family hostage, and you've got to shoot them away from the family, or they die.
Oh man. That trailer almost made my brain implode from the awesome. Not that I'm biased, or anything.

This game is going to be awesome. I have always loved the CoD series for the way they tell the story and how they can completely immerse you in the experience. Infinity Ward really knows how to pace a game as well, I know so many parts are scripted but often it doesn't really feel that way. For example in CoD4, when you are running down the road to the missile silo and you see them get fired off, it added a complete sense of urgency. Or how about the nuke aftermath for being so simple yet so powerful.

Me, my pumps ran out... I really want to play the single player, multiplayer doesn't interest me, I'm more interested in L4D2 in that respect.
I'll buy it, but I doubt I'll be in any rush...

I would like to play it, but I can't justify the cost for a gameplay experience that can't be that much different from what I've had before...but then again, what games are these days? Maybe I'll borrow it from a friend. Either way, I hope they'll have plenty of those awesome moments like getting nuked and watching your comrades get executed.
