, the new sci-fi thriller from director Rian Johnson, has released a first official trailer, in which Joseph Gordon-Levitt faces the unpleasant task of having to assassinate himself.
After explaining his responsibilities as a Looper, a hitman charged with executing targets sent back to him from the future, JGL is presented with a quandary, as his latest target turns out to be his future self.
That future self is played by Bruce Willis, and naturally, he's none too keen on getting shot. Suddenly, JGL is forced into a race against time as he chases his older self, and his employers turn up the heat.
Take a look at the first trailer, below…
It's an intriguing premise, and from the looks of the trailer, the action seems meaty enough to back it up. Co-starring Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano and Piper Perabo,
will open in the UK on 28 September 2012. It's going to be a very good year for sci-fi…
