First trailer for Dead Island studio’s new game Hellraid

Dead Island studio Techland has released the debut trailer for its next game, a first-person co-op slasher called Hellraid. Scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this year, the fantasy title will feature a single-player campaign and a co-operative multiplayer offering that "pits four players against the denizens of hell - and each other - in a battle for points, rewards and fame".

Previously known as Project Hell, the project started out as an internal weapon mod for Dead Island, which Techland said acted as "proof that chopping monsters frozen by magic spells using two-handed swords is brutally fun and addictive".

Any news yet on the split-screen side of things?

The general ambiance, gameplay and feel of it reminds me more of 90's shooter Hexen than Oblivion; especially because of the coop and whatnot. Hopefully this game will turn out awesome, there aren't nearly enough first person fantasy action titles as it is.

It seems that nobody has realized that Dead Island was a Diablo clone in FPS format, I guess Techland now has take another step to reesamble the atmosphere now. Stills looks like a fun game.

That's what I thought too. Elder scrolls. Looks like it is more focus on horror themes. However, coop maybe the best selling point to this. "Like elder scrolls with coop."
