First look at Priest

Entertainment Tonight have aired a brief behind-the-scenes sneak peek at vamp flick Priest .

Paul Bettany plays the titular Priest, a religious warrior who fought during the last Vampire War, but who has retired into obscurity in a walled-in human dystopia that is run by the church.

When his 18-year-old niece is carried off by a pack of vampires, he breaks his sacred vow and steps back into the wastelands outside the human cities to gain vengeance.

Helping him are his niece’s lover Hicks (Cam Gigandet) and Priestess (Maggie Q), who previously worked by his side as a vampire-killer.

Priest is being directed by Scott Stewart, who also teamed up with Bettany for the underwhelming Legion . He worked as a visual effects artist on Blade Runner and Iron Man, so if nothing else Priest should look lovely.

It hits screens early next year.

Can Stewart and Bettany do good and make us forget Legion ?
