First look at Judd Apatow's This Is Forty

The first image has gone online from Judd Apatow’s This Is Forty , and it features the same happy(ish) family we know and love from Knocked Up .

Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann are reprising their roles as Pete and Debbie, the narrative picking up a few years after Knocked Up with the couple facing new challenges and tribulations.

According to the LA Times , Pete’s music label is struggling, with Debbie’s dress shop (now staffed by Megan Fox) having to pick up some of the slack. As Leslie Mann puts it, the movie is full of, “the kind of stuff about marriage that you don’t get to see in movies.”

“It’s about getting older,” continues Mann. “‘What the hell happened? Am I making all the right choices? Is this where I’m supposed to be? Is this it?’ All of those dreams that you had when you were young, all of the possibilities, when you lock into marriage and kids, do the possibilities dwindle or go away?”

For our money, the relationship between Pete and Debbie was one of the best elements in Knocked Up , so we’re quietly optimistic that Apatow can deliver the goods with this one. Let’s just hope he can bring it in at under two hours for a change…
