Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn classes and jobs guide

Disciples of Hand

Disciples of the Hand are completely different from other classes. First of all, these cannot be selected as a starting class when creating a character - they are simply play styles you can pick up.

Rather than adventuring and slaying monsters, players of these classes focus on crafting. For more details on that, please read our Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn crafting guide. For a brief look at the crafting classes, keep reading.

Alchemist

Alchemists are all about creating potions and other consumables. Potions and other battle buffs can be created here. To become an Alchemist, complete your class' Level 10 quest and join the Alchemist's Guild in Ul'Dah.

Armorer

Armorers craft - you guessed it - armor. Want better protection during battle? Why not make heavy armor yourself. To become an Armorer, complete your class' Level 10 quest and join the Armorer's Guild in the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks.

Blacksmith

Blacksmiths are the makers of weapons. For a shiny new blade, axe, or other killing tool, smith it up. To become a Blacksmith, complete your class' Level 10 quest and join the Blacksmith's Guild in the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks.

Carpenter

Carpenters make weapons like Blacksmiths do, though the Carpenters' weapons are for bows and magic casting wands. They arm the long range fighters. To become a Carpenter, complete your class' Level 10 quest and join the Carpenter's Guild in New Gridania.

Culinarian

Culinarians make consumables that normal people call food. Whereas the Alchemist makes healing potions, the Culinarian will patch you up with a nice hot meal. To become a Culinarian, complete your class' Level 10 quest and join the Culinarian's Guild in the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks.

Goldsmith

Goldsmiths are the makers of accessories. Those lovely necklaces and earrings that buff certain stats can be yours to create as a Goldsmith. To become a Goldsmith, complete your class' Level 10 quest and join the Goldsmith's Guild in Ul'Dah.

Leatherworker

Leatherworkers make clothing out of animal hide. A nice fur coat or pair of fur boots is usually owed to a Leatherworker. To become a Leatherworker, complete your class' Level 10 quest and join the Leatherworker's Guild in Old Gridania.

Weavers

Weavers also make clothing, though their material of choice is usually a light fabric. Upper classes outfits are their specialty. To become a Weaver, complete your class' Level 10 quest and join the Weaver's Guild in Ul'Dah.
