Final Fantasy X-2 included in PS3 HD collection

The PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy X HD will pack Final Fantasy X-2 on the same disc, according to Japanese magazine Jump (via Gematsu). The fashion-swapping, pop-singing direct sequel will be sold separately on PS Vita in Japan.

The visually remastered games will both include their respective International Edition content, and you can get a quick look at the smooth new forms of Tidus and Yuna in this short video clip--smooth as in high-poly and nice textures, not smooth as in lacking body hair. Though that is, of course, also still true.

While the Vita versions will be sold a la carte in Japan, we'd be surprised if some kind of package deal didn't emerge for their Western release.

Sweet, I absolutely love X-2. It's a vastly underrated game (something I may have been pretty vocal about on here). The only downside to this is having to buy FFX in order to play FFX-2, something I'm not exactly keen on doing, as there's absolutely no point to Tidus' existence. The entire story is about Yuna, not him, and it doesn't help that he's massively obnoxious and annoying.

I really wish XII would get the same treatment. I've played it on PCSX2 at 1080p, and it looks absolutely stunning for a PS2 game, especially the character/enemy models. Would be amazing to play it on Vita, though.

I'm 20 years old and I still can't complete these games without crying. Even the theme tune sets me off. X is probably my favourite game of all time, but it turns me into a snivelling emotional wreck.

The games last few hours are man tears through and through. I tend to play this once every other summer or so, and haven't made it through Yuna's ending speech even ONCE without tearing up. Same goes for the ending to MGS3.

Can't complain. I thought X-2 was pretty fun, sure the story wasn't super baller awesome but the combat was one of the better in the series imo. Good stuff :D

Pretty much how I felt about it too. I think it has the best combat system in the entire series.

Agreed, the combat system is fantastic, though once you get to higher levels it does become hilariously broken when facing anything except the most powerful bosses.

Should I get a ps vita or ps3?
  • Sinnott - March 19, 2013 11:44 a.m.

I'd say a ps3, unless you move around a lot in which case get the vita.

Get both. I got a Vita first but that was for Gravity Rush. Hope to be getting a PS3 soon now that I finally realize how great it was.
