Final Fantasy IX available on PSN

In case you missed it, Final Fantasy IX has just released on the PlayStation Network. Final Fantasy IX featured some of our favorite characters in the series, especially Vivi, the wayward black mage, and Steiner, the overly chivalrous knight.

The RPG classic has been available on the Japanese PlayStation Network since April 2, 2010, but was just released on the North American PlayStation Network on Jun 15, 2010, during the height of E3 last week. So if the new Final Fantasy XIII didn’t scratch your RPG itch with its linear grind, you can download one of the most respectable titles in the franchise for a more traditional experience.

one of the best in the Final Fantasy series! Love it or hate it, this game is great! I still own my original PS1 version, so I won't need to go out and get a PS3 just so I can play this game! If you haven't played this, then it is a MUST BUY!

Already downloaded it a couple of days ago. Best FF game ever, like Eric said, amazing characters and epic plot, with tons of extras. I did like FF13 but since the MMO FF game they just don't feel quite the same.

You know, I still have this game on my shelf. Now if only I still had my PS1...

If I ever decide to buy a PS3, this will be the first thing I download. Strangely enough, the two words on the recaptcha? "remaking for."

My favourite final fantasy also, and the one with the best soundtrack.Nobuo Uematsu really excelled in this especially with 'you are not alone'. U could never predict who the ultimate villain was going to be either which helped make the story the most intruiging of the whole lot.

This is actually my favorite FF as well. A must-play for everyone who likes meaningful, endearingly imperfect characters and an epic plot that has sophistication and pathos, but that isn't so random and complex and full of Deus Ex moments that it compromises its own impact.

Zidane is in the game? Is there a special "head butt" attack?
  • Cyberninja - June 21, 2010 7:16 p.m.

i already knew about it but thanks for the heads up anyway

Favorite FF game ever. I'm downloading it as we speak.
