Feast your eyes on the Ash vs. Evil Dead season 2 trailer banned from Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is the place for networks and studios to reveal first looks  at their upcoming content. As long as it's suitable for general audiences, that is. While Starz planned to premiere the trailer for Ash vs. Evil Dead season 2 as part of its presence at the event, it was flagged as being too gory. SDCC banned it. An excess of flying limbs and blood-soaked guts tend to evoke those types of reactions. Check it out:

Okay. That's a lot of gore. All packed into the last half of the three-minute clip, no less, which definitely adds to its impact. Most of the 'mature content' that probably led to it getting banned from sensitive eyes is the stuff we've seen in season 1. Corpses getting chopped up and innards slopping onto floors, it's all standard Ash fare. But this takes things to a new level of gross. That Deadite getting its face SANDED OFF? As Ash's comrade Kelly says "That is horrible... and also awesome."

The upcoming season finds Ash enjoying an early retirement in Jacksonville, Florida, when the Deadite threat returns and the gang head for Ash's hometown. Outside of all the geysers of blood, by far the coolest part of the trailer comes when the crew descend upon Ash's childhood home. Fans of Sam Raimi's original Evil Dead movie may recognise a certain name on a door...

Ash vs. Evil Dead season 2 premieres in October 2016.
