SF writer Jaine Fenn to attend SFX Weekender 3

Principles Of Angels author joins literary line-up at the live SFX event in February

Growing up in a house with no books, Fenn sought out Doctor Who novels and episodes of Star Trek to fuel her imagination. Her first novel was written on her father’s typewriter – and illustrated in felt tip pen - at the age of seven, and at nine A Wizard Of Earthsea introduced her to the world of fantastical literature. At the age of eleven, she decided to become a writer of "unlikely stories." She studied Linguistics and Astronomy at university before beginning her career as an IT consultant. Fenn has had several short stories published in various magazines and anthologies. Bringer Of Light is the fourth volume in her Hidden Empire series, which began with Principles Of Angels in 2008. Queen Of Nowhere , the fifth novel in the series, is due for release in 2012.

She'll be in good company: the Weekender already boasts a line-up that includes actors (including a former Time Lord), writers and comic creators. It takes place in Prestatyn, North Wales, on Friday 3 February and Saturday 4 February 2012, with our pre-party on Thursday 2 February for the early birds. VIP tickets are already going fast, but there are many other options available. Make sure you get yours by calling 08700 11 00 34, or head to the new-look www.sfxweekender.com for more information.
