Unlike the Energy Weapons challenges there really isn’t a great easy way, from the beginning of the game, to work on this group easily. But once you get into the game itself it’s quite easy to just obliterate every enemy in the game by having the right explosive on hand. While you can get away with using only one or two guns when fighting with Guns or Energy Weapons you’re not going to be able to do that with explosives. You should carry at least one weapon, grenade or missile launcher, and then a wide variety of thrown grenades to suit each situation.

When making an Explosives based character, Luck isn’t even all that important but it may be smart to put all your points into Intelligence. This will let you buff up your Explosives rapidly as well as fluffing another combat skill (like melee or unarmed) for those situations where using explosives just isn’t practical. If you’re interested you can pick the Wild Wasteland trait so you can get the Holy Frag Grenades to obliterate enemies in extreme situations. Get perks like Demolition Expert, Hit the Deck and Splash Damage to boost the capabilities of your weapons and move on.

When fighting regular run of the mill enemies you can use frag grenades, plasma grenades or your explosive weapon of choice to thin them out. Whenever robots are attacking fling around pulse grenades but be careful of hitting yourself with them if you’re wearing Power Armor. Lastly when fighting enemies with a very high DT then use Incendiary grenades to burn them to ash. If you have the opportunity (and a high enough Sneak skill) then slip armed frag grenades into peoples pockets to obliterate even the hardest of foes with no effort.

Lastly, think very long and hard about what sort of weapons and armor you use. Power Armor is great but pulse grenades can backlash nastily against you, so Combat Armor reinforced mk. 2 might be a better choice. Using a missile launcher nets you a large amount of power, but they attack quite slow and can easily hurt you or your followers. On the other hand grenade launchers aren’t the most powerful so you’ll have to choose rather carefully.

If you’re going to be going for these then there’s a few things you should get your hands on. Head for That Gun or Ranger Sequoia, This Machine or a modified Cowboy Repeater, Riot Shotgun (or Dinner Bell) and the Light Machinegun (or Mini-Gun). If you’re willing to go the sniper route then you can dump This Machine / Cowboy Repeater and replace it with the Ratslayer. The amazing scope on that weapon, plus being totally silent means you can murder the crap out of lots of enemies without even alerting anyone. You can make this easier by having the appropriate ammo on hand, mainly armor piercing for humans.

With these weapons in hand you have everything you need to get all of the various challenges completed. When setting up your character, be sure to set your Luck fairly high and start taking the perks to help boost up your critical hit chance and damage. You’ll probably want a Luck of 9 and an Agility of 6, putting it straight into 10 Luck is a waste as you can use implants later on to boost Luck to 10.

Now when playing the game you should keep the pistol, the rifle and the shotgun at the ready at all times. Pistols should be used to kill all weak enemies such as mutated animals, insects and weak enemies such as Powder Gangers. The rifle should clearly be used for long range altercations while the shotgun handles the tough enemies that get too close for their own good. When you finish up one of these weapons just swap in the machinegun until you get that done as well.

That wasn't copy paste, it was a glitch in the game infecting my template. *cough*

Your copy paste on the description resulted in the paragraph saying that all the perks give damage increases on animals.
