it's hard to remember any from child hood, and my more cynical streak in recent years has made it hard to fall for any video game characters (or even real people)but I'm gonna give the /award/ to Naminé of Kingdom Hearts II. I had genuine affection for her and I can still remember it... though I'll stick with my real girlfriend... who actually kinda looks like Naminé now that I think about it :S

Can't think of my first, but a more recent one was most definitely Alyx Vance of Half-Life 2 fame. It's a shame that she is really nothing more than just bits of code, because Valve did such a wonderful job of crafting a genuinely believable human character with her.

On a side note, I found myself becoming attached, to some extent, to the mission handlers in the various Armored Core games. Well, at least the ones that had names; one thing I didn't like about AC:Nexus was that they didn't bother to give a name to the lady. I dunno, I just like the characters, despite them being nothing more than a voice and maybe some text on-screen.

Charlie normally no I dont want to be THAT guy. However I must say people claiming attachment to the physical attributes of virtual characters is a bit childish and weird. Im a devoted gamer and while ive grown to love the story lines of some truly great games ive never felt any form of physical attraction to a character because well quite frankly they arnt real. Too many gorgouse women in the world to see game characters in this light.

@DawgsFan117, I think to some degree I've "grown out of it", but yeah, during my preteen years I was much more comfortable dealing with my sexuality by proxy of fictional characters. It was a lot less daunting to find someone fictional attractive than to openly admit, yep, I like a dude. So as fictional characters helped me come to terms with with it, I have some lingering attachment to them. As long as I don't think I can only date someone with muscles the size of watermelons due to this, I think I'm okay. So, yeah, find all the fictional characters attractive that you want. It's fine.

Just find real people cute too. And, you know, don't marry Sonic.
