Hmm... so by this logic, there's a good chance that if they ever make a Super Mario Bros 4 and a Sonic 4, they would be the definitive game of their respective series.

Maybe this explains why Tetris was so damn good. It's a whole game based on the number 4 and it's named for the greek word for 4.

MGS3 I think was the best personally. And I liked Devil May Cry 1 as well, even though it didn't have Virgil in it (In a sense). But Yeah, I noticed a lot of 4s coming out that have been pretty damn awesome. Next is Sly Cooper 4!!

And clearly this proves that Metacritic is only good for getting the rough idea of a game's quality.

I can't believe GTA3 being that high. That game is practically unplayable compared to Vice City and San Andreas.
And it's nonsensical that MGS3 has scored so low.

DMC and Silent Hill ones are actually accurate though.

Oh, and I don't think RE5 was scored low for being too action-y and not scary. (and if it was; that's stupid) I think it was scored low for just being a bit rubbish. :\

(also hah. On the stupid "type two words every single time so we know you're not a bot thing" I just got the words "bust increase")

the reason 4 is winning most of the battles is because there are more reviews and plp who have acess to the internet to state their opinion and raating which puts previous gaames like street fighter 2 at a disadvantage. but most of them r really good like gta , street fighter 4, cod4, etc

Small error on your chart: Metal Gear Solid 3's subtitle is Snake Eater, not Subsistence. Subsistence is the special enhanced release.

Ratchet and Clank never really got numbered. There are a number of choices for the next iteration of this article, though. Tyler just didn't want to shoot his whole wad all at once.

Speaking of Gears of War, I believe that there will be exactly 4 Gears games. My reasoning for this is that if you take the training route at the first level for the new Carmine, he eventually says his family had four sons and now it is three with him. Given that the one from Gears 1 was named Anthony and the second one was named Ben, I can also guess that Gears 3 will star a Carmine brother whose name starts with C and Gears 4 with a Carmine brother that starts with D, so long as you don't count Carmine as the C, in which case it would be D in 3 and E in 4. INFAMOUS RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
