one of the cooler things that i noticed was how the climbing aspect of the game is very close to assassinss creed on how it uses the 3d of the game, not predetermined objects, to climb. small, but it caught my attention early in the demo video.
Furniture (wooden desks and chairs) don't sustain bullet damage (from machine gun or minigun) and AI partner can run in front of exploding grenade without damage.
Okay, easily my favorite little detail is the way the helicopter rotor blades blows all the foliage realistically with respect to its location. Seriously, it's details like that that make this game look like a (cliche incoming) movie.
The view from the top of the hotel at 0:35 is truly awe-inspiring.
The climbing actions and overall movement look a lot smoother than those in Uncharted 1.
The new additions to the cover system are awesome such as the knocking over of desks for cover.
Not forgetting the little cinematic moments that Uncharted is brilliant for.
Finally who could forget the voice of Claudia Black as Chloe XD!
Beautiful sights coupled with great shooting and interesting vertical warfare. No place seems safe as bullets come from all directions piercing the air and often the flesh. Taking cover would only delay the inevitable, a 1 on 1 encounter with victory or death. Nice and tense!
i loved the heli's mg just ripping apart the supports on that bridge so it fell, also glad they have made grenades a seperate button and no longer sixaxis although imo that worked quite well in the 1st, just got my platinum trophy in it! 1st 1! plus theyve got shoty/m79 crosshair/sight things when you blindfire now thats gunna be useful, and while i loved the jungle setting of drakes fortune, i think an urban 1 for the 2nd game was the right choice. ooohhh! and they made bullet damage for the ak a lot better now i remember in the last game pumping nearly a whole mag into 1 of those shoty people and then running out of ammo quickly, switch to the pm and oh right this only takes 4 or 5 shots, why bother with the ak? and drakes humour's back as well, in the vids he's made a few funny quips like nice parking job to a bus thats gone straight into a wall. pick me gr!
The fact that (almost) everything is destructible and interactive, from the bricks on the wall, to the wall itself (helicopter sequences), the cover system in which you can turn the table, and in the last sequence, when the building is collapsing, you see every object on the ground moving, it's amazing!
My favorite parts the Uncharted demo are both the dilapidated cityscape and the way gameplay seems to blend Call of Duty 4, Assassin’s Creed, and Indiana Jones.
First of all, my FAVORITE gameplay trailer EVER. The draw-distance of the view from the top of the building is amazing. Everything is dynamic and there is just so much detail it's hard to take everything in. I also like the foreshadowing of the story with the mountains in the distance.
But I think my favorite part of the video has to be the crumbling building at the end. The Uncharted series' gameplay is so immersive there is no other like it. This is bound to be GOTY and will be pre-ordering my copy soon. But I might go insane if I don't get to play it soon! Thanks.
I love the fact that you're more likely to die by being shot by one of the guys wielding an ak-47 than the Mi-24 Hind piloted by a cross eyed pilot who cant seem to hit you... its either that or the hind cant actually shoot you. Im going to assume it can
What really attracted me to the gameplay was that this character really felt alive and "real" DURING THE GAMEPLAY. When he is climbing up the wall, you HEAR his grunts. You SEE the amount of effort he must make to climb up the wall.
When he was done getting to the other building(with the help of a convieniently placed wire) we see him roll on the ground. obviously, this guy is human, and thus he is not invincible. Even when he falls a short distance, he crouches a little bit before coming completely stable. The "real" sense of the gameplay is definitely the best.
This game looks like a perfectly balanced hybrid of shooter, action and platformer games. The clip of this demo seemed very well paced. It evokes Assassin's Creed platforming and visuals... but with guns!
The coolest thing I've found is the chase scene where he have to jump from platforms while being shot by a chain gun! It looks hell a lot like a movie and we're playing it!!
The part where the platform falls and he shot the guy across using the falling stuff as a shield was neat! Way to go and can't wait to get this game!!
I like how the plants when the helicopter reacted to the bullets and the wind from the blades of the chopper. It's small touches like that that made me love the first one.
I say the fact that I played inFamous 2x's thru (once evil/once good) and I didn't get a god damn key for buying the game. I deserve, NO I demand a beta key.
The gameplay detail I love/hate is Nate's Shirt. It's totally untucked now. It's definitely more realistic to have an untucked shirt while doing all of those acrobatic moves; last game made me wonder how he did to keep it in the same place all the way across those pits, rivers, death traps, pirates and utter bad luck. I also like a lot the fact that the helicopter looks like a MI24 Hind. It reminds me an old game for the PS1 back on '98.
