I still love my shiny PS3.......But it's great they made a smaller one. As long as it won't brake easily, it's all good. XD

FFS! I think I like the shiny one better. Also the one I spent an entire paycheque on. How easy is it to switch out the HDD though? How well do the vents work? I do like the $300.00 price tag though--maybe with more and more users using the PSN and Home, they'll actually fix er up? Maybe?

Damn, that photo makes me want to buy and stack all three consoles into one big mountain of feel good. I already have the wii and 360, but sadly the last time I enjoyed sony was with the PS1. oh well, maybe Christmas, good article/clip/photos GR

Its a good thing, but, like the first model of PS3, there will be complains about this one to, no PS2 emulator by example, o no a console that allows "modifications"and read piracy discs

What a load of rubbish! Fair enough if you don't already have a PS3, but selling your existing one and buying this one just cos it's an inch smaller is insane. Sony will have to do a lot more than that to get me to buy again.

@Csheroe: I got my PS3 at the exact same time, but I also have gotten inFamous, MGS4, and MotorStorm, plus I watch a LOT of Blu-rays on that beast.

I still have the original launch console. From looking at the pictures it looks like you can't replace the hdd's anymore without taking it apart.

Hey, I got a couple of questions.

Are there any specs on it yet?

Will this version be able to play PS2 games or are they still anti-PS2 as of late?

This will determine weither I will buy this version or not.

I like the smaller design and the smaller price tag (Why couldn't you arrive 8 months ago!!!!) but IMHO the current shape sucks... I was hoping they would change it... :( and the texture looks like sandpaper haha :P

Oh well this will give a boost to PS3 and in this recession sony could use it :)

For those who want BC, Sony just stated that it's "off the table" as in no NEW PS3s will have it out of the box via hardware ala 60gb and 20gbs.

Interestingly, they've patented a way for all PS3's to emulate a PS2. So if you want to play PS2 games you may have to wait for a firmware update, but I wouldn't wait forever you'll be missing out on fantastic PS3 games.

There's a hundred dollar add-on you can get though... a PS2.
