I actually like most of these games, except the stupid GTA games and Fable 2 Pub games, which made you learn new rules to new stupid games to win very little in game and waste a ton of time.
And to the Star Wars fanboys, stop already. Boba Fett only lives in the EU, for as far as strict canon is concerned, he's dead. Boba Fett's history was totally rewritten by Episode II, so you can't take EU SW as strict canon. And he both crawled out and got shot out of the sarlaac and then recued by Dengar, because he's fallen in the sarlaac twice. So you're both right.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the PDA mini game in Alien Hominid on XBLA. I thought that game was awesome but that minigame was just straight tedious.
I had very little trouble on the Zero-G basketball, even though my kenesis had nary and upgrade. Wasnt the greatest mini-game (nor as fun as the shooting range in Dead Space) but better than many others i have played as well.
what about the snake minigame in naruto the broken bond? its not just that it wasn't fun, but not being able to do it prevented two achievements.. TWO ACHIEVEMENTS.
well, not that i know anyone who played Prey, but that had some pretty bad minigames. I remember a blackjack-esque card game(or was it poker? aww, who cares) and a horrible pac-man ripoff. just hated them. and they were actually worth achievements. THAT I GOT! i feel more sad now.
I didn't think Prey was all that bad. The Pac-Man style game was flimsy, but not awful.
I am a little surprised you guys missed the worse mini-game in a bad game; that masturbation game in Leisure Suit Larry: Magnum Cum Laude. From what I recall of it the game looked and sounded like something from the days of the Atari 2600, and it was how Larry masturbated (and I think it was how he enjoyed the occasional whore).
Has there been a list of good games-within-games? That list is one I'd be interested in seeing. I'm sure there are some awesome mini-games out there (that might even make good full games on their own) that I've passed over because I never played the game that contained them.
