The Top 7... Unfunny games

They tried to make us laugh. Instead, they just made us angry

5. Big Mutha Truckers 2: Truck Me Harder
2005 | PS2, PC, Xbox

Most of the comedy in the first Big Mutha Truckers revolved around the word "truck" rhyming with a word we can't print here, which is a pretty flimsy base to try and build onto with a sequel. So Big Mutha Truckers 2 decided to take a slightly different route, combining its "truck me" jokes with a much broader focus on hackneyed redneck humor.

Above: Wait, didn't we buy this game to laugh at rednecks? Why are we talking to this guy?

This might have actually been halfway funny, except that it all comes in the form of long, first-person conversations with half-assed, poorly animated stereotypes. Jokes are made, and then promptly dragged out and run into the ground until that giggle you just let out catches in your throat like a cold lump of meat. The effect is not unlike chuckling at a stranger's seemingly drunken antics at a party, and then realizing you're the only one laughing, because he's just mentally disabled and everyone knows it but you.

But hey, if you've ever wanted to listen to a toothless cracker over-explain why his cousin might have been born wearing underpants - and you've got some serious time to listen to cheesy dialogue in between hauling junk from one town to the next - maybe Big Mutha Truckers 2 is for you, after all. Just let us show you this educational video first. We'd like to think there's still hope.
