thank god i didnt start the flame war for once and make cyberninja4 quit coming to this site all he does is make people mad and if i get a xbox i oick this game up because firefight seems more fun than geting cursed out online
Good article but HOLD THE PHONE. Keith David is an unknown voice actor?! Has Nobody seen the HBO Spawn TV Series?! Or Gargoyles?! He owned BOTH of them!! I am sure the guys from Firefly were excellent but you can't top Spawn!!
@SausageLozenge - I do *try* to stay away from establishing a value of a game by it's length - but when there's a whole OTHER disk in the case with content I already have, it's hard to shake the idea that Bungie just took a page from Nintendo's handbook. That said, I can probably sell my Halo 3 disk locally for a good 20 - 30 bucks and recoup a lot of the cost. Despite only playing a few rounds of firefight, I can definitely see the draw there - and 4 player campaign on legendary would likely be the definition of epic. See you online dude, this should be fun. I also can't help but wonder if they're planning DLC for this? Anyone heard anything?
@dreadfred - I haven't seen any *new* weapons per se - but the updated pistol and SMG are fantastic.
@bobbety - I agree, to a point. I thought the contrasting music was VERY well done - but yeah, there were a few times where I had an army of brutes on my ass while some chill saxophone riff accompanied the action. Pretty weird. Overall, I really enjoyed the music.
Can't help but wonder if this 'open world' (I use the term loosely) concept is an idea Bungie is headed towards for Reach?
I agree with most of this. I still have trouble seeing why Halo's plot is confusing to people, but I can deal with that. As always, ODST's music is awesome. Multiplayer was a given. It had all of Halo 3 and added Firefight and the 3 new maps. Win freaking win!
But I've gone through almost all of the campaign on Legendary and haven't done that much differently than what I did on Halo 3. But Halo's combat is still awesome, so I don't really mind that.
It sort of degraded on the 2nd last mission (think the Libary). I don't think the single-player on a whole was better then Halo 3 and the character modes where TERRIBLE!!!
i agree with charlie, BUT i hateddddddd every character in odst. the voice acting is the main reason for that "CHANGING MAGS GUYS" fuck. the guy that looks like tom cruise or the chick with a ps1 Esq triangle for hair? i cant decide. "the best character is the rookie because he doesn't talk."
wtf is hallway combat, and why is it annoying and reppetitive?
and the only one i dissagre with is music, i know i've heard it 200 millon times,it's on my dam ipod, and i go through the scarab part on the covenent just to hear that, the odst music, while fitting for the mombosa atmosphere, didn't fit in well with spraying down a brute with an smg
and if they make dlc,i'm hoping firefight, but matchmaking,if it can work for natzis, horde, and survival,it should dam well work here
P.s, to anyone looking for endure, if you can get 4 people, go to lost platoon and you can use the same glitch to get anti-air wraiths to get the normal wraiths
@Cyberninja4: I agree i dont see why people like Gaylo 3 so much. Its not even as good as a pile of shit. Speaking of shit, i could take a shit and think of a better game. Bungie doesnt know how to make games...oh wait they know how to but they just cant make GOOD games.
As much as I love BSG, I really thought Alan Tudyk and Adam Baldwin added much more to the game than Tricia Helfer. (But then again, I'm a geek, and the melding of Halo and Firefly makes me giddy like a schoolgirl when Zac Efron is on TV.)
In terms of music, I fucking hate it when I get jaded on my favorite tunes. I used to get shivers down my spine from listening to Shadow of the Colossus's The Last Reprise. Now, although I still understand its significance, it's lost that primal feeling, and I hate myself for listening to it so many times in such a short time.
