we don't have as much of a problem with sensationalism tv news show in britain but we do get a lot of this stuff in newspapers. its...irritating.

I think these people must be scared of games. maybe if they pick up the actual game they're calling a "sex simulator" (Mass Effect)and play it through. This is typical. Just ruining the game for others while not even playing it. Pretty much all of the games I own legally I shouldn't have, but I judge myself mature enough to play them because say, I'm not gonna kill my parents for taking away Halo and no, i don't believe they would "spawn somewhere else. Stupidity.

What the hell, me and my friends are twenty and we play AC:CF online all the time! It is more addicting then most games I can think of right now, besides RE5. Which is about as racist as a black kitten Lol. I just find it disturbing that people actually wanted to kill the kids in Fallout 3... what would that accomplish!? It would just make the game AO and only available online. Gamestop and Wal-Mart don't sell games like that.

Yes. We definately use -Video Games- to train one of the strongest Militaries in the World. We have Marines go play Operation Flashpoint to learn how to shoot a real gun. We have Socom to learn how to communicate properly. We have plenty of Vehicle-War based games to teach Pilots ( Of all sorts, Land, Air, and Sea. ) how to drive their designated vehicles. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?

Seeing some of these things brings my blood to a boil. If the media were shown to have been so blatantly WRONG in most other cases, they would get jumped on and made to look like fools. Yet we see and hear them repeatedly bashing games for all kinds of things that end up being untrue, and there is barely an apology in sight. I love that Geoff Keilly got the point across to at least one media moron, but I'd like to see that happen more often.

I also cannot stand the double standard between games and movies. Movies can contain murder, sex, nudity, rape, foul language, and horrific acts of violence and be called art. If a game does the same thing, it is blamed for the downfall of society.

Great article, and hopefully something that will be seen by someone in the mainstream media. (Fat chance!)

it takes an adult to buy rated M games but anyone can get rated R movies.
its easier to get sex scenes in a movie than sex scene in mass effect. (2 seconds of bare ass?)games are just as morraly sketchy as movies but no one attacks cineplex.

I agree with you im under age and i own loads of games rated M, i dont go on a killing spree every to 2 seconds. most of them i buy them from i guy i know who ows a shop and knows me and he considers that i am mature enough to play and some times when I buy else where buy dad or brother buys then because they know i wont kill them after playing for 10 minutes

i played gta as a kid my mum was very eneasy about getting it after hearing stuff about it

and to this day she'll buy me 18 rated games if i cant and knows the violenece on some of them but she leaves me to play them and has done because unlike these fools. she knows that they don make anyone into murderers. same with films.

if i see a cooking show i dont go to my kitchen and bake a cake

no so leave us alone to our cod and gta and halo and stuff
