Like someone said earlier, the covenant picture is racist lol. It looks like the elite is eating the black guy's head and everyone's standing around smiling. Lol, that made me laugh, almost didn't notice that.

well, the Unggoy and Kig-Yar dont really have much faith, they just joined becase they would be squashed otherwise.

the Jiralhaene i think mostly joined due to the technology. nerd rant over.

Too bad religion isn't confined only to games and movies. Why do people have to believe all that bullshit in real life?

You know what random church i find really creepy for no adequate reason? the church in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum in Hearthome City. Then again, they worship one of the most tangible Deities ever: Arceus (and related dragon trio) But, Chuck Norris is already my chosen savior.

What about the Sith and their (boring) counter part the Jedi? shouldn't they also be counted for like a cult or something? I mean they have all the key elements of a cult, secrecy, exclusiveness (You have to be born with special power to join, and even after you join, you have no idea what other Sith are doing most of the time), plus insanely harsh deciplin (aiming at killing you during the process), completely cut off from the rest of the world...(except they try to take over the galaxy).

I'm only slightly disappointed that the Happy-Happy Cultist from Earthbound weren't on the list.
In general, anything featuring Earthbound isn't mentioned enough here.

Good article. Now you need to do an article about the religious nut jobs that will defend their console/platform/game even at the slightest of gripes.

Long time reader, first time poster.

I am slightly dissapointed to not see The Order from the Silent Hill series. But apperantly there are so many video game religions it must have been hard to chose just 7

There was also a group of people in Fallout 3 who worshiped a mutated talking tree, They were called the TreeMinders. Fun group.
