OH MY FREAKIN GOD!?!?!? THEY MADE ANOTHER? I HAVE LIKE 3 OF THE 1ST ONE AND 3 OF THE NEW 1, MY DADS GONNA BE SO MAD IF I ASK HIM FOR THIS!!!...oh well im askin for it anyways, it looks awsome;)

i'll stick to my psp slim, thank you.
but i think this is great! maybe the price of DS lite will now stoop so low that i wont even notice the money missing, and then i'd get a lite. :) maybe...
wouldnt have bought this one anyway; no gameboy slot? youve gotta be kidding me...

I understand wanting to make it thinner, but taking out the GBA slot seriously cuts into the game library. There were some fantastic GBA games available.

i think its cool that they are making a new ds but why did they have to get rid of the gameboy advance slot, i liked it. now i need to get a new ds lite (broke mine) and dsi. it looks cool.

Nope, this isn't gonna fly... I've been a Nintendo fan for about 20 years now, and I hate that they keep rehashing all the same gear with new bells and whistles. If they spent half the money on developing a new handheld, or at least a VASTLY different one, then maybe I'd grab my wallet. For shame Nintendo.

I see what you mean, Razorwire, but creating a new handheld, or even a VASTLY different one right now would be suicide for Nintendo. You see, Japan has reached a sort of saturation point (as mentioned previously in this same article) in terms of hardware sales. I think it was stated that there's about one in each household. If a new, vastly differentiated console would to be launched, or even announced, it would make the entire DS franchise obsolete. All the games currently shelved in stores, shipping out, or even being developed would never be purchased, and whoop-di-do! Nintendo loses Money, markets, and trust.

Can't wait for it.
I sold off all of my GBA games a long, long time ago. I love the downloadable features. Finally a good use for my 32GB SD card. :P As for our R4's Luvull they won't work for a couple of months after the DSi is released because the DSi's OS is programmed to detect a R4/M3/Cyclo and if there's one inserted it crashes itself. And I'm sure that while the R4 programmers will eventually release a firmware update that will allow us to use it I think that it won't happen for a while.
