I think it was a great list, but I also agree that you should have tried to avoid multiplatform games for these lists. I think you could have done better for 360 runner-up. Mass Effect, anyone? If you did have to go multiplatform, you could of at least done Bioshock or COD4. Hell, even Halo 3 > Rock Band, as much as people will bitch about me saying it. Don't get me wrong, RB is a great game, but #2 for 360. KTHX NO.

i really dont think that gears of war was a defining game. granted it is amazing, but there were others in that genre that did jst as well before it came out

i agree with most of these,and the choice for ps 2 had to be the hardest there are: gran turismo five,tony hawk 3,mgs 2,mgs 3,final fantasy 12,final fantasy 10.....

Wow I have read some of these comments and a few of the corrections are terrible. For instance why say oblivion and not Fallout 3 I mean come on its Oblivion with a nuke. Also I agree with putting halo 2 instead of halo 1 simply because of what it did for online console gaming.
The only thing I personally would change at all on this list is for the 360. I would have put COD4 as one of the top 2 games so far. Before you start ranting about the endless waves of respawning bad guys just think for a second. Has there been any cooler mission ever than the sniping mission on that game. Then there is the fact that 15 months after it was released it is still the 3rd most played xboxlive game. Oh also the graphics were breathtaking.

Omg screw my last comment lol. I completly forgot my favorite game of all time is on the 360. Bioshock deserved the number 1 or 2 spot. Most amazing story in a gmae especially the perfect twist at the end. Dam howdid I forget that. So screw rock band I mean damn it wasnt even excusive. There are 10 titles that deserved that spot more. So COD4 the Bioshock would be my 360 greats. I agree with the PS3 ones though and lol I dont own a wii cause im not 4.

You should remove the PC section from this article. You simply cannot compare 30 years of PC against multi generation consoles. You are definitly making a mistake.
The technology bettwen a 286 and a quad-core pentium is just ridiculous. So, right off the bat, you have to disregard all graphical and mathematical wonders in your choices of game.
I would argueably put DOOM way before any half-lifes, starcrafts or diablos out there, if you are really talking about earth shaking games on PC. Had the same effect as half-life, i agree...but 11 years before it....

Okami is really great but should it have beaten out ICO and SoTC?

O.k first. Why would you pick Half-Life for the pc's greatest game when it wouldn't even be around if it wasn't for Doom. Second. GTA:SA?! What about Resident Evil 4? And finally, no XIII or Doom 3? Doom 3 was the first game I saw that used shadows like that. This is just my opinion and I'm sure theres people that won't agree with me, but I bet theres some that will.

why no ocarina of time? it was probably one of the most revolutionary 3D games ever made. 3d platformers would have come around sooner or later.and frankly nearly none of them were revolutionary. though mario 64 was the best. i disagree with rock band 2 as well. there were tons more revolutionary games for the xbox 360 than a game you play with a fake guitar and drums. i also would have liked to see Star Wars Dark forces 2 in the 90's pc. IMO it was better than half life.
