Step 4: Reset the Poke Radar until you see a Shiny patch
Like we said earlier, the theory behind chaining for Shinies is that the larger your chain is, the higher the chance of encountering a Shiny. However, building very large chains is difficult and risky. At some point, you're going to want to stop chaining and just keep resetting the Poke Radar over and over until you see a Shiny patch.
Where you stop chaining is purely a matter of personal choice, but we recommend stopping your chain at around 40. It really all depends on how much you're willing to risk breaking your chain (sometimes chains can break for seemingly no reason at all, which can be super frustrating when you've built a long chain).
If your chain is too small, it might take a very long time before you find a Shiny. But if you try to build too long of a chain, you have a higher risk of it breaking and losing all your hard work.
